Ms. Akdogan graduated from Advanced LLM in European and International Business Law programme of Leiden University with cum laude distinction as a Jean Monnet scholar, funded by the European Union. During her masters, she participated in the European Law Moot Court competition as well as being a member of Honours Academy of Leiden University.
She is currently a PhD Researcher at the department of Transboundary Legal Studies at the University of Groningen. Her research focuses on the clarity and enforceability of Trade and Sustainable Development chapters on environmental standards and labour protection in the EU Free Trade Agreements. She also teaches European Union law courses and supervises theses.
