Cambridge International Law Journal<\/strong> (papers\/articles)
The Editorial Board of the\u00a0Cambridge International Law Journal<\/a>\u00a0(CILJ) is pleased to invite submissions for Volume 13(2), to be published in December 2024. This issue builds upon the 13th CILJ Annual Conference, held on 8-9 April 2024, but is open to submissions from all authors including those who are not presenting or participating in the Conference. Theme of Submission: \u00a0The intersection of peace and sustainability in international law. Submissions for Volume 13(2) must be received through the\u00a0online Submittable platform<\/a>. Please note that the system now closes by 11:59 pm (BST) on\u00a0May 7, 2024<\/strong>.

American Branch of the ILA Blog Symposium<\/strong> (abstracts<\/em>)
In honor of ILW 2024\u2019s theme of \u2018powerless law or law for the powerless?<\/strong>\u2018 ABILA is hosting a blogging symposium. The International Environmental and Energy Law Committee will sponsor the first symposium. To participate, kindly submit a 200-word abstract and a brief biography to Freya Doughty-Wagner at\u00a0media@ila-americanbranch.org\u00a0by\u00a0May 19, 2024<\/strong>. Abstracts and biographies may be in Word or PDF format. Please ensure to include the phrase \u2018blog symposium\u2019 in the email subject line. Lisbon 2024 Climate Conference<\/strong> (abstracts<\/em>)
The 2024 theme is ‘Human Rights and Climate Change: Where Next?’ – Interested practitioners and scholars (including early career researchers and Ph.D. candidates) are invited to submit an abstract of about 500 words, in English, by 31 July 2024<\/strong>. See more here<\/a>.

Stockholm University<\/strong> (Postdoctoral Fellow<\/em>)
The postdoctoral position will be part of the 4-year research project \u201dCorporate Accountability in Global Supply Chains? The Effectiveness of Human Rights and Environmental Due Diligence Regulations\u201d, funded by the Wallenberg Foundation. The project focuses on a new trend wherein mainly European states have adopted regulations building on a human rights and environmental due diligence (HREDD) approach.\u00a0Application deadline: May 13, 2024<\/strong>. Columbia University, Sabin Center<\/strong> (Postdoctoral Researcher<\/em>)
The Sabin Center seeks a\u00a0Postdoctoral Research Scholar<\/strong>\u00a0to contribute to its initiative on carbon management and negative emissions technologies. \u00a0\u00a0The incumbent will work with the Center\u2019s Executive Director and Deputy Director, as well as other staff, to conduct applied research on the international and domestic laws governing the use of negative emissions technologies and possible options for legal reform to advance safe, responsible, and just outcomes. Successful performance will require generating original research, communicating research findings clearly and through a variety of media and formats to a range of audiences in a manner that maximizes impact. Canadian Environmental Law Association <\/strong>(Articling Student<\/em>)
Canadian Environmental Law Association\u00a0(CELA) is a legal aid clinic dedicated to environmental equity, justice, and health. Founded in 1970, CELA is one of the oldest environmental advocates for environmental protection in the country. With funding from Legal Aid Ontario (LAO), CELA provides free legal services relating to environmental justice in Ontario, including representing qualifying low- income and vulnerable or disadvantaged communities in litigation. CELA also works on environmental legal education and reform initiatives. CELA is accepting applications for a full-time Articling Student for a term of 1 year commencing in mid-July 2025. University of Oslo<\/strong> (in person<\/em>)
The Department of Energy and Resources Law\u00a0of the\u00a0University of Oslo (UiO), Norway, in collaboration with the Research Group in Natural Resources Law, is pleased to announce the first conference of the\u00a0ELAWNET project\u00a0on Energy Law in the light of the green transition towards NET zero emissions. The conference will take place over one and a half day, starting in the afternoon of\u00a0Wednesday 14th<\/sup>\u00a0of May and finishing at the end of the day on Thursday 15th<\/sup>\u00a0of May 2024<\/strong>. The conference will be followed by\u00a0a one-day PhD school on Thursday 16th<\/sup>\u00a0of May 2024. All meetings will take place at the UiO Faculty of Law, in downtown Oslo. See more here<\/a>.

International Climate Law Conference 2024<\/strong>, Czech Academy of Sciences (in person<\/em>)
Theme – Shaping Climate Law: Dynamic Roles of State and Non-State Actors. Join the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), Environmental Law Institute and expert panelists for the fourth part of UNEP-ELI series on the UNEP Environmental Rule of Law: Tracking Progress and Charting Future Directions<\/em><\/a>\u00a0report. The recent challenges and advancements of environmental rule of law can be categorized under four general themes: development and use of technology; COVID-19; climate change; and social and environmental justice.
