Conference theme: \u2018Agricultural Pesticides Vs Food Sustainability: A Need to Produce Ground-Breaking Knowledge from an Interdisciplinary and Dialoguing Perspective<\/em>.\u2019 Through a thorough dialogue with scientists and a range of experts in the areas of environmental law, international trade law, food sustainability, and human rights, this international conference will explore the complexity surrounding the regulation of ag-pests. 81st International Law Association Conference<\/strong> (abstracts<\/em>)
The 81st Biennial ILA Conference will be held in Athens, Greece June 25-28, 2024. The Biennial Conference has launched a call for papers for the sub-theme ‘Greening International Economic and Energy Law: New Paths.’ This Panel will discuss the fluid relationship of international environmental law with international economic law instruments, and the multifaceted challenges that States face in seeking a transition to a \u2018greener\u2019 economy and cleaner energy sources.\u00a0Abstracts should be 500 words max. The Centre for Environmental Law and Policy, Faculty of Law, University of Colombo, Sri Lanka, Jindal Global Law School, OP Jindal Global University, Sonipat, India, Commonwealth Legal Education Association, NAPSIPAG Disaster Research Group (NDRG-2020), Department of Political Sciences, University of Catania, Italy, and Lewis & Clark Law School, USA are pleased to announce the second International Conference on Environmental Justice 2024 (ICEJ\u201924), which is to be held virtually on 31 August and 7 September 2024 (Consecutive Saturdays).

University College Cork <\/strong>(PhD<\/em>)
The project analyses in particular how legal action involving children and youth is transforming perceptions of children, and therefore the discipline of children\u2019s rights. It is funded by the European Research Council. It is highly ambitious and cutting edge, and the PhD researcher will join a team of international, interdisciplinary researchers. This PhD candidate will engage in academic analysis of litigation and other action taken by children to achieve climate justice.\u00a0Previous experience in\u00a0 legal analysis is essential. Are you passionate about becoming an academic with critical legal research skills and excellent teaching abilities in the field of transnational climate law and sustainability? In this position, you will combine teaching (50%) and PhD research (50%) over and eight-year period. In this role, you will dedicate equal time to both research and teaching. The position is part of a research project that addresses fundamental legal questions of climate law, coupled with a teaching development pathway. The Schulich School of Law, Dalhousie University, invites highly qualified applicants for nomination for a Tier 1 Canada Research Chair (CRC) in \u201cClean Arctic Shipping\u201d\u00a0<\/strong>at the rank of Associate or Full Professor. The proposed chair will become a member of Schulich Law\u2019s\u00a0Marine and Environmental Law Institute<\/a>. Applicants must have a background in maritime law, ocean law, or a related field in the Arctic context. The University of Amsterdam is hosting a lecture from Professor Carmen G. Gonzalez from the Loyola University Chicago School of Law. She is a world-renowned expert in international environmental law, environmental justice, human rights and the environment, and food security. Professor Gonzalez is past chair of the Environmental Law Section of the Association of American Law Schools, and served as member and vice-chair of the IUCN Academy of Environmental Law.
