Call for Abstracts, Papers, and Submissions:<\/strong>

Elgar\u2019s Cases in Context \u2013 Climate Change Litigation<\/strong> (chapter proposals<\/em>)
This will be the first book of its kind that is fully dedicated to identifying and analysing landmark cases, including how claims are being framed, and by whom; how these claims and the new challenges they raise are being dealt with by courts, and the influence of these cases on climate change advocacy and policy. Each case study will examine how climate lawsuits and their complex social and legal challenges are being addressed in various jurisdictions. The unique contribution of this book in the context of climate change litigation is that it presents an opportunity to consider and analyse landmark cases in depth. The use of a common set of questions and avenues of inquiry will also provide opportunities for comparative analysis. Journal of Political Ecology<\/strong> (abstracts<\/em>)
Special edition theme: Understanding Political Ecologies of Wildlife Conservation through Non-Human Lives. This special issue invites papers from the Global North and South, written in both English and Spanish, engaging with non-humans as actors in the political ecologies of wildlife conservation. In order to develop a particular focus, we would like to limit our consideration to wild or feral non-human species, including both plants and animals. We seek papers that examine what attention to non-human lives can teach us about the PE of wildlife conservation or, in other words, papers that explore the linkages between other-than-human agency, political processes, and the broader conservation governance of wildlife. 250-word abstracts and author information should be sent by April 1, 2024<\/strong>. With the aim of supporting the implementation of Chile’s recently adopted climate change law, the consultant will deliver: (1) A baseline analysis of all relevant international and regional obligations of the Government of Chile under international law or treaty related to climate change, including the management and regulation of GHG emissions, and water resources. (2) The review of five draft environmental regulations, with suggested amendments that integrate international best practice as appropriate. The Schulich School of Law, Dalhousie University, invites highly qualified applicants for nomination for a Tier 1 Canada Research Chair (CRC) in \u201cClean Arctic Shipping\u201d\u00a0<\/strong>at the rank of Associate or Full Professor. The proposed chair will become a member of Schulich Law\u2019s Marine and Environmental Law Institute<\/a>. Advancing the rights of child and youth human rights defenders: implementing the recommendations of the Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights defenders <\/strong>(hybrid<\/em>)
As the SR on the situation of human rights defenders, Ms Mary Lawlor, presents her report on child and youth human rights defenders to the 55th session of the Human Rights Council, the SR and child and youth defenders from all over the the world will explore how to use the report as a prevention and redress instrument and as an empowerment and inclusion tool for children and youth people to claim accountability for their rights. Public Launch of the Global Toolbox on Corporate Climate Litigation<\/strong>, London (hybrid<\/em>)
The purpose of BIICL’s Global\u00a0Toolbox<\/a>\u00a0on Corporate Climate Litigation (the “Toolbox”) is to make corporate climate litigation speedier, more efficient, more effective and more predictable, so claims can be adjudicated on with the minimum delay.
