Call for Abstracts, Papers, and Submissions:<\/strong>

2024 Society of Legal Scholars\u2019 Annual Conference<\/strong>, Bristol, England (abstract or panel idea<\/em>)
The theme of the 2024 SLS Conference is\u00a0Learning from Others: Lessons for Legal Scholars?<\/strong>\u00a0As scholars, we interact with others \u2013 students; fellow academics; legal practitioners; the wider public \u2013 and the 2024 conference will reflect on the gains we can achieve from such interaction in a global academic environment.\u202fThose wishing to present a paper should submit a title and abstract of around 300 words. Those wishing to propose a panel should submit a document outlining the theme and rationale for the panel and the names of the proposed speakers (who must have agreed to participate) and their abstracts. Application deadline: 22 March, 2024<\/strong>. Conference dates: 3-5 September, 2024. See more here<\/a>.

Common Good Foundation, Jersey, UK – Economic, Social and Cultural Rights Conference<\/strong> (papers<\/em>)
The Common Good Foundation in partnership with The Jersey Law Commission will be hosting a 1-day conference dedicated to Economic, Social and Cultural Rights. This inter-disciplinary conference welcomes scholars, practitioners, and activists who work in areas of protection, fulfillment, and realization of these rights from around the world. Abstracts are due Monday 15 April, 2024.<\/strong> This conference will be held in person, in St. Helier, Jersey, Channel Islands on Friday, 12 July, 2024. See more here<\/a>.

You will be conducting innovative research and actively contributing to a research project entitled\u00a0Translating climate science for international law<\/em>, led by Dr.\u00a0Nata\u0161a Nedeski. The project is embedded within the Amsterdam Center for International Law (ACIL). The aim of this project is to enhance our understanding of how (climate) science has been used, and can be used, in the development, interpretation and application of international legal rights, obligations and procedures (including litigation) that are relevant to climate change. Danish Institute for Human Rights<\/strong>, Copenhagen, Denmark (Senior Adviser on Human Rights and Sustainable Development<\/em>)
We are looking for a new colleague with professional experience in working with human rights and sustainable development. You will contribute to our work to promote just and equitable sustainable development, through analysis, agenda-setting work, and cooperation with partners. You will have a strong background in human rights and an excellent understanding of human rights mechanisms and the interface between human rights and development. Dr. Robert Oakes<\/strong>\u00a0will join UN University Senior Vice-Rector\u00a0Sawako Shirahase<\/strong>\u00a0for a presentation that will cover a UNU the e-learning course’s diverse set of interactive elements that engage learners through short videos, animations, interactive graphics, personal stories and quizzes to test learners\u2019 progress.
