Asian Institute of Technology, Bangkok, Thailand<\/strong> (papers<\/em>)
We are pleased to invite you to participate in the International Conference on \u201cGender, Geopolitics and Forced Migration,\u201d which will take place from 04-05 March 2024 in Bangkok, Thailand. The conference marks International Women\u2019s Month 2024 to \u201cInspire Inclusion\u201d to forge Gender Equality by arguing for a gender-sensitive approach to geopolitics in international relations, foreign policy making and national politics in South and Southeast Asia and Beyond. As a Postdoctoral Researcher\/Project Researcher\/Doctoral Researcher (Sustainability Law<\/em>), you will be based at the UEF Law School, which is the leading Finnish research institution in the fields of natural resources, climate change, energy, and environmental law. The Postdoctoral Researcher\/Project Researcher\/Doctoral Researcher position will be part of the KATKO project exploring the legal and economic foundations of sustainability transformation. We are looking to appoint a Research Associate in Climate Damages Analysis to the Climate Litigation Lab and the Sustainable Law Programme at the Smith School of Enterprise and Environment (SSEE), School of Geography and the Environment (SoGE). You will hold a relevant PhD\/DPhil, or be close to completion of a relevant PhD\/DPhil. You will have evidence of potential for producing research of world-leading quality on climate damages attribution and\/or quantification during the tenure of the post. The High Seas Treaty as a win for multilateralism: what lies ahead <\/strong>(in-person and online<\/em>)
The BBNJ Treaty, achieved after close to 20 years of preparation and negotiations has the potential to transform the conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity on the high seas, and bring about greater sharing of the wealth of the oceans. In this lecture and panel discussion, speakers address what was achieved in these negotiations, how the Treaty speaks to global justice and equity in science, and what must happen next in terms of ratification and entry into force of the Treaty.
