The summit followed our virtual&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/gnhre.org\/the-gnhre-blog-symposium-on-the-escazu-agreement\/\">symposium<\/a>, where a diverse group of scholars discussed key aspects of the Escaz\u00fa Agreement\u2019s implementation in the form of blog posts.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The plenary session was held on&nbsp;<strong>October 7th, 2021<\/strong>, where our esteemed speakers discussed the challenges in implementing the Escaz\u00fa Agreement and kick-started a debate on possible solutions.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This discussion was also intended to inform the&nbsp;<strong>GNHRE Principles for the Implementation of Escaz\u00fa<\/strong>, illustrated by regional good practices and the challenges faced by people on the ground.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Speakers:&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Soledad Garc\u00eda Mu\u00f1oz<\/strong>, Special Rapporteur on Economic, Social, Cultural and Environmental Rights (REDESCA), from the IACHR, OAS<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>David R.
