Husain, Maha

Maha Husain is the Team Lead for the Climate and Environment Initiative (CEI) and a Research Associate at the Research Society of International Law (RSIL), Pakistan. She completed her undergraduate law degree from the University of Cambridge (Downing College) in 2021. Maha completed the Climate Change Law Short Course offered by the British Institute of International and Comparative Law (BIICL) in April 2022, and the Climate Change and Water Short Course for South and South East Asia offered by Griffith University and Funded by the Australian Water Partnership in August 2022.

During her undergraduate degree, Maha wrote her final year dissertation on Third World Approaches to International Law (TWAIL). She has previously worked with the Cambridge Pro Bono Project to produce a report on enforced disappearances of women as a continuous gender-based crime and has worked with the Oxbridge Human Development Research Group to provide tailored research to the UNHCR.

Maha’s research interests include climate change and environmental law, public international law and Third World Approaches to International Law (TWAIL).
