ENVIRONMENTAL RIGHTS REVIEW (paper)
Call for papers for the second issue of the Environmental Rights Review. We are looking for articles, opinions, case notes, and book reviews on the issue of animal rights. Deadline: 28 December 2023. Contact environmentalrightsreview@gmail.com. See more about the ERR here.
CONSTITUTIONALIZING IN THE ANTHROPOCENE (abstract)
Constitutionalizing in the Anthropocene (CitA), a collaborative research project based at Tilburg Law School’s Department of Public Law and Governance, exploring the manifold ways that law is (or could be) challenged by the Anthropocene. This group is calling for abstracts of up to 1,500 words by 2 January 2024. Additionally, a one-day event will be hosted by Tilburg University in April 2024. Example areas of interest may include conceptual explorations, fundamental rights and constitutional framings: future prospects, technology in the Anthropocene: intergenerational and interspecies justice, AI and data-driven systems in the Anthropocene, technology design and deployment as an economic freedom in the Anthropocene, and emerging legal frameworks under the European Green Deal. 8th INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON CLIMATE CHANGE 2024 (abstract)
Call for Papers: “Effective and Innovative Solutions for Achieving Net Zero.” Researchers, academics, scientists, scholars, and activists who are working on climate change are invited to submit abstracts on or before 14 November 2023, according to the abstract guidelines. See more here.
COP30 – GENDER ACTION PLAN (submission)
There is an open call for submissions directly linked to COP’s Gender Action Plan and the Enhanced Lima Work Programme on Gender. Parties and observers are invited to share information on engaging women’s groups and national women and gender institutions in the process of developing, implementing and updating climate policies, plans, strategies and action, as appropriate, at all levels of governance. UN SPECIAL RAPPORTEUR ON HUMAN RIGHTS DEFENDERS (submission)
Call for input on child and youth human rights defenders to inform the next report by the UN Special Rapporteur on Human Rights Defenders. Deadline: 15 November 2023. See more here.
