The Global Network for Human Rights and the Environment (GNHRE) in collaboration with REDESCA (Special Rapporteurship on Economic, Social, Cultural, and Environmental Rights at the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights) is hosting a two-day summit exploring the implementation of the Escazú Agreement in Latin America and the Caribbean. The summit follows our virtual symposium, where a diverse group of scholars discussed key aspects of the Escazú Agreement’s implementation in the form of blog posts.
Please save the date for the plenary session, which will be held on October 7th, 2021 at 3 pm EST. Our esteemed speakers will discuss the challenges in implementing the Escazú Agreement and kick-start a debate on possible solutions.
This discussion will inform the GNHRE Principles for the Implementation of Escazú, illustrated by regional good practices and the challenges faced by people on the ground.
