Abstract

Discusses international standards in animal and plant health and food safety and UK and EC legislation on animal and plant health. Considers the implementation of Council Directive 93/77 in the UK and regulatory innovations in plant health including plant passports and protected zones. Examines WTO measures for the protection of plant and animal health and the environment. Reviews priorities, strategies and resources in plant health, concessions for travellers, transgenic crop varieties and the integration of agriculture, environment and food safety.
