Professor of Environmental Technology Innovation, Bristol UWE, UK

Martin is a national leader in environmental protection, environmental regulation and support for environmental technology in the UK.  He has worked with governments in the development and implementation of EU and UK environmental regulation including the Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control Directive, Industrial Emissions Directive, waste management and air quality/pollution controls.  He developed the pollution inventory and emissions trading for England and Wales.  He is an expert on risk based, outcome focused regulation, the use of environmental management systems and partnership working with industry.  Having spent many years working in industry and encouraging environmental performance he is keen to encourage and support environmental innovation by business through his new role as Professor of Environmental Technology Innovation at the University of the West of England (UWE), Bristol.
